The Nerd by Larry Shue is about an aspiring architect, Willum Cubbert, who has often told his friends about the debt he oves to Rick Steadman, a fellow veteran, whom he has never met but who saved his life after he was seriously wounded in Vietnam.  He is delighted when Rick shows up unexpectedly on the night of his birthday party.  His delight soon fades as it becomes apparent that Rick is a hopeless Nerd with little social sense and less tact.  Rick stays on and on leading into many uproarious incidents with a surprising "twist" at the end of this great comedy.

The November comedy production of The Nerd will be directed by Walt Robberson and assisted directed by Joyce Merrill.  The cast consists of Dave Jones as Willum Cubbert, Brenda Pierce as Tansy McGinnis, Joyce Merrill as Axel Hammond, Denny Davis as Warnock Waldgrave, Theresa Jenks as Clelia Waldgrave, Levi Welch as Thor Waldgrave, and Tom Nilsen as Rick Steadman.
